Forestry

The Forestry Extension program at the Ohio State University covers a wide variety of subject areas. While the core of the program focuses on the education of Ohio’s private woodland owners, there are other segments that focus on some specific forest product industries.

The maple syrup industry and the Christmas tree industry are important clientele to the Forestry Extension program. Both industries have a long history of collaboration with OSU Extension.

Another Extension component in Forestry is the Urban Forestry program. Urban foresters are responsible for caring for trees and forests which exist within or close to cities, towns, and villages.
