Welcome! And Thank You for Your Interest!

The Environment and Natural Resources Graduate Program offers potential graduate students the opportunity to address the challenges facing the environment and natural resources of today and tomorrow. Studies of the environment and natural resources take place at the intersection between the needs of a productive society, the need for sustainable natural resource use, and a healthy environment. We encourage applications from individuals with undergraduate or graduate degrees in a wide variety of disciplines or appropriate work experience. Our faculty and students conduct their research and learning in natural, physical, and social sciences and management and policy.

The ENR Graduate Program offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. A non-thesis, professional Masters of Environment and Natural Resources degree program was approved in June 2009. We are also proud to offer both a combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree program and a dual degree program with the John Glenn School of Public Affairs. The Ohio State University Graduate School also offers a variety of Graduate Minors and Graduate Indisplinary Specializations to enhance graduate studies.

The majority of our graduate students are funded as Graduate Teaching and Research Associates to assist faculty and gain valuable experience in teaching at the university level and in all aspects of conducting scholarly, scientific research. Currently, over 70 graduate students are advised by SENR faculty with graduate areas of specialization in:

Ecological Restoration
Ecosystem Science
Environmental Social Sciences
Fisheries and Wildlife Science
Forest Science
Soil Science

GradRoots, the ENR Graduate Program's student organization, provides opportunities for peer interaction through professional development, service and social events.
