This area is an off shoot of tree evaluation efforts by foresters
and urban foresters at Ohio State University over the decades.
This book was originally published more than 50 years ago.
The book has been greatly expanded and now contains color
photographs and some ecological observations not found in
other works. Most of the trees are native but the book does
include some commonly found exotics such as ginkgo and Norway
maple.
