Career Advising
Career development is a continuous process, and advising appointments can help you take a step-by-step approach to your career journey. New first-year students are encouraged to schedule a career advising appointment within their first year in SENR. Transfer students should schedule within their first semester.
Career advising is available to all ENR undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. Appointments cover a variety of topics, including: exploring strengths and interests, writing resumes and cover letters, searching for internships and jobs, preparing for interviews, and exploring graduate schools. Options are available for both in-person and Zoom (video) appointments.
Meet Your Career Advisors
Lucia Hadella and Meagan Toohey are the Career Advisors for the School of Environment and Natural Resources. They work with SENR students on many different areas of career development, including writing resumes and cover letters, identifying strengths and interests, networking with professionals, and searching for internships and jobs. SENR students can meet with Lucia and Meagan as often as they need to.

Handshake at OSU
All OSU students have a Handshake account. Activate your Handshake account by logging in with your OSU name.# and password. To ensure you have full access to all Handshake features, including virtual career fair registration, update your profile to accurately reflect your year in school and your expected date of graduation. This information does not update automatically. Questions about Handshake? Contact Lucia at hadella.1@osu.edu.
Career Development Resources
Current students should have access to "SENR Career Development Resources" on their Carmen/Canvas dashboard. Be sure to check this page frequently for resume examples, career planning tools, announcements about opportunities, and more. If you don't see the page in your Carmen dashboard, email Lucia Hadella.
ENR 1500: Career Development and success
Consider taking ENR 1500 as a structured way to get on top of your professional development and planning goals. It is offered during the first session (first half) of spring semester. The class is suggested for students who have completed at least one year of college. Your Sophomore year is a great time to take ENR 1500! If you are a Freshman considering taking ENR 1500, email Lucia Hadella to discuss your options. Inner-university transfer students who did not take the SENR survey class are very strongly encouraged to take ENR 1500 as early as possible.
