Learning for life & shaping our world
The School of Environment and Natural Resources creates science-based knowledge and fosters environmental sustainability through teaching, research and outreach. By integrating the natural and social sciences, we promote discovery and leadership through a comprehensive approach to better understand and address environmental and natural resource challenges locally, regionally and globally.
The School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) at The Ohio State University is a distinct, interdisciplinary academic unit administratively housed within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). The graphic below displays the organization of SENR within the university.
We are dedicated to the use and management of natural resources in an economically efficient, environmentally compatible, and socially responsible manner. Our programs are delivered by faculty with expertise in various aspects of aquatic and water resources, environmental social sciences, forestry, rural sociology, soil science, and wildlife ecology. Through our outreach we also spread that information across the state of Ohio. Our graduate and undergraduate students, and our faculty and staff make the School an exciting place for research, learning and service.
