Central Ohio Sierra Club Volunteer Orientation Program

Aug 22, 2015, 10:00am - 11:30am

Learn about the Sierra Club and what you can do to help the environment. As the largest and oldest environmental group in the United States, the Sierra Club has been essential to the founding of the National Parks, the enforcement of the NEPA, the Clean Water and Air Acts.

Come join us for orientation on August 22nd, and become part of the largest and oldest environmental organization in the United States. As a volunteer based organization, without people like you, exploring, enjoying and protecting the environment isn't possible.

We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, from web master, conservation associates, communications contributor and more! We organize clean-ups, hikes and rallies, so no matter what you like doing, we have a position for you.

Below is a tentative itnerary for the orientation.

  • An overview of the Sierra Club (Our History, important events within the club, current mission and volunteer lead design)
  • Overview of Central Ohio Group (Leaders, geography, impacts we have made, and goals)
  • Training on specific tasks (Letters to the Editor, writing newsletters, how to be a conservation leader, training on the website, how to organize events) - Due to time constraints on the day of orientation you will only be able to sign up for a maximum of two trainings.

To RSVP please email beasley.50@osu.edu! The orientation will be held at 131 N High St. Suite 605, Columbus, OH 43215.
