The Hiddeen Half of Nature: The Microbial Roots of Life and Health

The Carbon Management and Sequestration Center welcomes Dr. David Montgomery, professor of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington. Dr. Montgomery will present The Hiddeen Half of Nature: The Microbial Roots of Life and Health in 333 Kottman Hall.

Author of Dirt: The Erosions of Civilizations, David Montgomery, will present a seminar on his forthcoming book The Hidden Half of Nature. The research of Dr. Montgomery addresses the role of topsoil in human civilizations and the influence of geomorphic processes on ecological systems. In 2008, Dr. Montgomery received the MacArthur Fellowship.
