All five majors have the shared goal of conservation and stewardship of our natural resources and environment for current and future generations; however, strategies and tools learned to reach that goal vary by major. By integrating the natural and social sciences, SENR majors promote discovery and leadership through a comprehensive approach to better understand and address environmental and natural resource challenges locally, regionally and globally. On average, 94% of students in this program are either employed or enrolled in graduate or professional school within six months of graduation.

Want to pursue an environmental career, but not sure which major pathway is for you?
Students applying to Ohio State have the option of selecting Environment and Natural Resources - Undecided as their planned major on the Common Application. Students who enroll as Environment and Natural Resources - Undecided are students in SENR and register for the first-year survey course (ENR 1100) with all other SENR students to delve into the coursework and career opportunities each SENR major offers. Students then work closely with their academic advisor to land on a major path that best aligns with their academic and career goals.
