Scholarship Eligibility

There are three financial aid sources you should be aware of as a student admitted to an SENR major:

  • SENR scholarships for incoming first-years--you are automatically considered for SENR's scholarship awards for incoming first-years. Students receiving our awards (separate from University Merit Awards), will be notified via mail from SENR. This award will also be reflected on your Ohio State tuition statement of account.
  • Scholarship Universe--this platform houses most internal and external scholarships for Ohio State students and will match you with applications you are eligible for. SENR is one academic unit that falls within the broader College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). As such, you are encouraged to apply to the CFAES scholarship on Scholarship Universe. The priority deadline for this scholarship application is February 1, 2026. Learn more from CFAES >
  • FAFSA--this application offers federal grants and loans for college. Filing your FAFSA application by February 1, 2026 will allow you to maximize financial aid from Ohio State.

Individual Appointments and Visits

Schedule an Individualized Campus Visit

The School of Environment and Natural Resources hosts students and families for an extended campus visit called Experience Ohio State for a Day (EOFD).  These visits are typically a half-day experience which include a meeting with the School of Environment and Natural Resources to answer questions and discuss academic and career pathways, lunch (on us!) at a univeristy dining hall, and an individual campus tour with a current student. Schedule a Meeting with an SENR Staff Member

Set up an individual appointment with an SENR staff member.  These meetings can serve as a personalized overview and/or an opportunity for you to have your questions answered.  The meeting will cover SENR majors, your career goals and interests, and make sure you’ve got the resources you need to make an informed decision about Ohio State.

Information Sessions

Offered twice a month

SENR hosts information sessions in person at Kottman Hall, our academic building on campus, and at the Olentangy River Wetlands Research Park, our outdoor field site in Columbus just north of Ohio State University's campus. Join us at these sessions to learn more about SENR's five majors, career pathways for each major, education abroad opportunities, financial aid, honors, and campus community. Each session includes plenty of time for questions and answers as well--we encourage visitors to come with questions!

Interested in a campus tour? We try to schedule our SENR Information Sessions on dates with campus tours so that you can sign up for both. Explore the University Admissions website and find dates that might work for you!
