Dear Alumni and Friends,

A we wrap up an eventful semester, I am delighted to share with you, our alumni and friends, Robyn Wilson, professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) will serve as our next acting associate director of SENR starting in the new year.  

Having served in diverse roles within SENR and across the university, Dr. Wilson brings vast scholarly and administrative leadership experience to this role. In SENR, she has chaired or served as a member of many important committees, including the Research, Fellowship, Director Search, Promotion & Tenure Oversight Committee and Academic Affairs. She serves on the Ohio State Sustainability Institute Faculty Advisory Board and the President and Provost’s Council for Sustainability, both of which advise University administration on issues related to the environment and sustainability. She is also on the faculty advisory board for the Environmental and Social Sustainability Lab and a member of the Decision Sciences Collaborative.  

Dr. Wilson is the current past President of the Society for Risk Analysis and member of the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) Resilient America Roundtable and the US EPA Board of Scientific Counselors Social and Community Science Subcommittee. She is a former member of the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) Board on Environmental Change and Society, the EPA Chartered Science Advisory Board, and the International Joint Commission Water Quality Board. Dr. Wilson is an author on over 80 peer-­reviewed journal articles, and several book chapters and her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the USFWS Joint Fire Sciences Program, The USEPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, The Nature Conservancy, The Great Lakes Protection Fund, The Great Lakes Observing System, and The Fertilizer Institute (4R Research Fund). 

As Associate Director of SENR, Dr. Wilson will serve as chief operations officer for internal affairs, focusing on the undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and faculty professional development. Dr. Wilson will also direct a facilitative process to develop recommendations for the reorganization of the administrative structure of the School of Environment and Natural Resources.
