A new study finds conservation efforts must extend beyond training individuals and begin to strengthen systems. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife, in collaboration with Ohio Sea Grant, has released an updated edition of the Ohio Lake Erie Birding Trail Guidebook, which details the best places to see birds along the Lake Erie coast. Unveiled at the annual Ohio Wildlife Diversity Conference on Wednesday, March 19, the guidebook is now available online and print copies may be purchased at birding events throughout the year. Learn more about the updated edition >>

Judges Needed: Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Regeneron ISEF provides an annual forum for more than 1,800 students in grades 9–12 from the U.S. and across the world to showcase their talent on an international stage. Students worldwide compete in science fairs, and winners go on to participate in society-affiliated fairs from which the best win the opportunity to attend ISEF, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, May 10–16, 2025. These top young scientific minds will showcase their talent, be judged by doctoral-level scientists, and compete for more than $9 million.

We're in need of general event volunteers for the third annual ‘We Grow Scientists’ event on Wednesday, April 30th at Waterman (2515 Carmack Rd). We’re planning an afternoon of interactive hands-on activities showcasing the many STEAM fields our college has to offer. This free event is part of the COSI Science Festival and open to learners of all ages. We anticipate welcoming 700-950 community members primarily made up of families with elementary and middle schoolers.
