SENR is Here

This weekend the Ohio Woodland Stewards program offers their annual Ohio Maple Days event - A Day for Maple! 
Saturday's program (Dec. 9) is full of maple themed talks with experts in the morning followed by a tasty maple themed lunch and opportunity to mingle with vendors before an afternoon of focused tracks on beginning maple and advanced maple. 

Ohio Sea Grant is proud to announce five Ohio finalists are part of the 44th class of the prestigious John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship, a year-long program that places highly qualified graduate students in host offices in the legislative and executive branches of U.S. government. Congratulations to Jai Tiarks, a PhD candidate in the School of Environment and Natural Resources, who is one of the finalists and placed in NOAA’s Oceanic and Atmospheric Research International Activities Office. Read the full announcement and learn about the fellows and their placements >>

Congratulations to Harrison Fried, who is the winner of the oral presentation session at the First Annual Interdisciplinary Water Research Symposium hosted by The Ohio Water Resources Center. Harrison presented on the Columbus Environmental Networking Tool (CENT).

Congratulations to Bill Peterman, who was recently awarded funding for, "Distribution and multiscale habitat assessment of green salamanders (Aneides aeneus) in Ohio" from the Ohio Division of Wildlife.

Stone Lab Seeks Science Majors for 2024 Research Experience for Undergraduates Fellowship Program 

Stone Laboratory welcomes college undergraduates to apply for its 2024 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Fellowship Program. Applications are due by February 26, 2024.

Students selected for the REU program receive a $5,500 stipend and free room and meals for the eight-week fellowship experience at Stone Laboratory, The Ohio State University’s island campus on Lake Erie.

Undergraduates from any U.S. college may apply for this competitive, comprehensive research opportunity. The students chosen will learn how to conduct scientific research in the field alongside top scientists. The fellowship runs from June 3 through July 26, 2024. Learn more about this opportunity >>
