Registration is open for the 2025 CFAES Research Forum and Poster Competition. Eligible participants include currently enrolled or recently graduated students, post-docs, and research staff working on CFAES-supported projects. The competition encompasses separate categories for Undergraduate students, Master’s students, Doctoral students, Post-doctoral Scholars, and Research Assistants/Associates/Scientists (also referred to as Research Staff). Participants must register AND submit their abstract and poster PDF by Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the link below.

All events will take place on Thursday, April 10th from 8:30am - 3:30pm at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center on the Columbus Campus. Poster sessions will take place in the morning, as outlined below, followed by a luncheon, a keynote address, remarks on the state of CFAES Research, and concluding with the awards ceremony. Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your research to the CFAES community and college stakeholders at this annual event!

• For Ohio State community members: proposals for the Battelle Engineering, Technology, and Human Affairs (BETHA) grant are due Friday, March 28th. Three to six awards ranging from $10,000 to $60,000 will be given for innovative projects that examine the relationship between science and technology. Apply now.
• The 2026-27 Fulbright U.S. Scholar competition is now open. The Ohio State University faculty and staff interested in learning more about the program and application process should contact Joanna Kukielka-Blaser. The deadline to apply is September 15, 2025.
  The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers teaching and research awards to United States citizens in more than 135 countries. • Apply for a Spark Grant for Arts Engagement     Application deadline is March 17   
  Funded by the Mellon Foundation, Spark Grants provide seed funding for community-engaged arts projects. The competition is open to Ohio State faculty, staff, and students who partner with community organizations on projects that center the arts, including community-engaged teaching and service-learning projects. Proposals involving communities served by regional campuses will receive priority consideration. 
• Cohort Opportunity for Community-Engaged Scholarship and Teaching   Application deadline is March 24   
  The Engaged Scholars Academy is a one-year, cohort-based leadership and professional development opportunity for faculty at the ranks of assistant and associate professor. Participants will build relationships with community partners and Ohio State peers while deepening their knowledge of community-engaged scholarship and how it can enhance their teaching and research. Up to 12 applicants will be accepted into the inaugural cohort.
