Hello SENR! 

One of the wonderful things about working at Ohio State are the opportunities to learn about a wide array of topics. For our 2021 Earth Day celebration hosted by EPN and SENR, we learned about efforts to protect and restore monarch habitat. There are a set of upcoming talks (webinars) on pollinator conservation in urban settings for those who may have an interest in continuing to learn about pollinator conservation from the Bee Lab at Ohio State. 

Speaking of EPN, our photos this week highlight our in-person and virtual EPN Breakfast on The Limits to Growth, Revisited. This is the third program this semester using this hybrid format with this month's program having 104 watching live via EPN YouTube. The EPN team is excited about the possibilities of growing our community by offering this option and hope you join future events, including our December program, with experts discussing wetland and stream restoration and a networking session, featuring autumn Ohio State senior Capstone Project Posters on display in the registration area.

A new PBS short documentary, "What Are Wild Coyotes Doing in the Big City?" is available via YouTube here and features an interview and research conducted by faculty member Stan Gehrt and the Urban Coyote Research Project.

Faculty member Shoshanah Inwood spoke about building strong agricultural economies with U.S. Farm Report at this year's stop on the college roadshow. Ohio State was the final stop on the roadshow. Find out what Dr. Inwood shared via U.S. Farm Report's YouTube (at about 31:04).

Jeffrey Kast, a PhD candidate in SENR studying agricultural conservation practices in Lake Erie’s western basin and Knauss fellowship finalist has completed Placement Week in Washington. D.C., meeting with potential host offices and interviewing for positions of interest. Find out where Jeffrey will be working and what he will be doing in the Nov. 15 Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Lab press release.
