The North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (NCR-SARE) Program announced projects selected for the 2021 Graduate Student Grant Program. Congratulations to Maritza Pierre, who was awarded $14,968 for the project, “Black Farmers and Climate Adaptation.” Maritza is a doctoral student in the Rural Sociology specialization.

Several SENR faculty are leading newly launched collaborative Exploratory Research Groups (ERGs) through The Sustainability Institute. ERGs are designed to support early-stage, exploratory research and creative expression on a range of faculty-determined topics.

Oct. 25:  SENR students will be showing posters about their summer internships in the Agricultural Administration Building Auditorium. Join from 2-4:00 p.m. and learn about their experiences. Poster presenters will rotate halfway through, with over 80 posters to visit in total.

Rosalie Hendon an Environmental Planner and project manager of Columbus' first Urban Forestry Master Plan with Columbus Recreation and Parks Department will be presenting as part of the Chadwick Arboretum's Tree University: Investing in Trees for Health, Safety and Equity on Creating Columbus' First Urban Forestry Master Plan on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
