About the Conference Theme - Partnering for a Resilient and Sustainable Future

Sustainability is motivated by the fundamental dependence of humans on the natural environment, including air, water, and land resources, and the desire to foster life on Earth now and in the future. It focuses on improving the well-being of people and communities by protecting earth's life support systems, reducing environmental impacts, and enhancing resource efficiency. Sustainability also depends on the resilience of natural and human systems, such as those providing energy and food, and the ability of communities to recover, adapt and flourish in the face of changing environmental, economic, and social conditions.

Student Opportunity:  Pathways to Sustainability Careers (1/23) 

Learn about the variety of careers that impact sustainability on Wednesday, January 23, from 1:45 to 3:45 pm in the Performance Hall of the Ohio Union.  Meet representatives from business, government, and non-profit sectors who are helping make our society more sustainable through their current jobs.  The event is designed to maximize time for students to interact with the professionals with no speeches or presentations to sit through.  Register for the event here (for a chance to win a $50 REI gift card) or simply show up.  The event is free to Ohio State students.  Light refreshments will be provided.
