American Ornithological Society

Please join us for the 137th annual meeting of American Ornithology and the third annual meeting of the American Ornithological Society, to be held in Anchorage, Alaska. Following our long legacy of vibrant annual meetings, the 2019 conference will once again offer a great opportunity for sharing and discussing scientific research in all areas involving birds. The meeting will place special emphasis on research and conservation focused on our 2019 meeting theme, “Birds on the Edge: Dynamic Boundaries.”

We envision a broad discussion of research that spans the breadth of modern ornithology through symposiaworkshops,  contributed papers, and posters in the exhibition hall. In addition to several exciting plenary presentations, you won’t want to miss

  • professional development & networking events
  • a special evening keynote address
  • bird-friendly coffee at breaks!
  • Exhibitors from the commercial, non-profit, and government sectors

The timing of the meeting, late June, is perfect for viewing birds breeding in Alaska, and we have several exciting field trips planned. The week will be capped off with the infamous Bird Jam featuring talented musicians from the Society and local area. We hope to see you there!

And don’t forget to mark your calendars with all of the Important Dates & Deadlines leading up to this meeting!
