Please join us on Wednesday the 28th September at 5:30 pm in Knowlton Hall’s Gui Auditorium for our Baumer Lecture Series with Alison H. Alkon. Dr. Alkon is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She is a strong advocate for food justice, and much of her research explores the ways that racial and economic inequalities affect efforts of sustainable food systems.
Prof. Alkon is author of Black, White, and Green: Farmers markets, race, and the Green Economy (2012), and co-editor (with Julian Agyeman) of Cultivating food justice: Race, Class and Sustainability (2011).
