Doctoral Scholarly Seminar
Marisol Becerra, PhD Candidate in Environmental Social Sciences, will present her Doctoral Scholarly Seminar, "Energy Resiliency and Reliability in Puerto Rico in the Aftermath of Hurricane Maria." The seminar will be held on Thursday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m. in 370 Kottman Hall.
This doctoral seminar will focus on the impact of Hurricane Maria on Puerto Rico’s energy grid, and the response from government, private, and nonprofit sectors. Emphasis will be placed on the feasibility of renewable energy and microgrids. The seminar will conclude with insights on energy and environmental policies under consideration in the U.S. Senate.
Marisol Becerra is a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Graduate fellow in the office of Senator Tammy Duckworth for 2017-2018.
