EPN February Breakfast
The Environmental Professional Network will present Electric Utilities, Farmers, Agencies, Others in the Ohio River Basin Establish World's Largest Water Quality Trading Program. Call it “payment for ecosystem services” or “market-based conservation”, water quality trading programs are adding another means to achieve clean water goals, through broad partnerships. Partnerships that often involve electric and water/wastewater utilities, farmers and other landowners, agencies, including regulators, conservation districts, and agricultural and environmental organizations. Presenters for this program are Jessica Fox, Senior Program Manager, Electric Power Research Institute; Tim Lohner, PhD, Consulting Environmental Specialist, American Electric Power; Brian Brandt, Director, Agriculture Conservation Innovations, American Farmland Trust; and Gary Stuhlfauth, Environmental Specialist, Ohio EPA Division of Surface Water.
