This workshop will review the concept of time value of money and ways of incorporating it in cash flows related to natural resource projects. Then, using these concepts we will discuss several criteria for evaluating feasibility of natural resource projects from a financial perspective. The workshop will also include an introductory discussion on valuing goods and services that are not commercially bought and sold, such as ecosystem services.
NOTE: The workshop will include a fair number of exercises involving calculations. Please bring a laptop and a calculator (the one on your phone will suffice) with you.
