Graduate Exit Seminar - Carl Engstrom
Plan to join Carl Engstrom's graduate exit seminar on March 24, 2025, at 11:00 am in Heffner Teaching and Research Building, Room 125 or via Zoom. Carl will present, "Analysis of habitat relationships and response to forest management for avian species in Ohio"
Abstract: Carl will present his Master's thesis work that focused on identifying key habitat associations between avian species and forest conditions in southeastern Ohio. His work had a special focus on the Cerulean Warbler, a species of imperiled songbird where understanding the habitat associations for this species is of the utmost importance in securing its future. Additionally, he examined the impacts of novel climate-adaptation forest management on the forest bird community. Results from this study will expand our understanding on Ohio's forest birds and serve as a foundation for ongoing research on the effects of climate-adaptation forestry on the avian community.
