Ohio Sustainable Landscapes Symposium 2016
The Ohio Sustainable Landscapes Symposium presents "Wild"scaping Made Easy: How everyday landscapes can become an attractive, more sustainable, mini-refuge for native wildlife.
The 5th Annual Symposium will focus a full-day of learning on habitat enhancement using sustainable techniques and native plantings. Join featured speaker John Watts, Resource Manager for Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, as he highlights Ohio’s unique habitats and diverse wildlife. Then, explore how to convert your yard into a low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly habitat with curb appeal. The event also offers sessions on native plants for urban landscapes, sustainable garden planning using technology, hard-scaping and co-existing with wildlife (featuring live animal ambassadors) along with expert-led tours of The Dawes Arboretum’s natural areas and unique gardens. The day concludes with an “ask the experts session” and plant give away. Don’t miss this year’s symposium!
