The School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) Seminar Series welcomes Courtney Anderson and Naseem Dillman-Hasso, who are PhD students in SENR and will present talks starting at 4:00 p.m. in room 103 Kottman Hall or via Zoom

Ohio's "new" top dog: a multifaceted approach to understanding the impacts of coyotes
Courtney Anderson
Coyotes were historically absent from Ohio, which seems surprising considering how ubiquitous they have become during the last few decades. Being relative newcomers, we have limited information on how coyotes move and behave in Ohio's landscape. My work in the Gehrt lab looks at a combination of movement and diet data to better understand what Ohio coyotes are eating, how they move in different habitats, and how they might be impacting native wildlife.

Examining factors leading to residential solar adoption
Naseem Dillman-Hasso
Increasing residential solar adoption is a necessary step to reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources. However, little work has investigated factors leading to actual adoption of residential solar systems. Additionally, given financial and structural constraints, rooftop solar is not a viable option for every household. Solutions such as community solar allows households to “subscribe” to solar programs, avoiding the upfront cost and physical space necessities of rooftop solar, but adoption of community solar remains low. I will discuss a series of studies aimed at examining what leads people to adopt solar systems, and how perceptions of rooftop versus community solar systems differ.
