What You Didn't Learn From Watching Batman

Jan 23, 2018 (All day)
Cost:
Free
Location:
Grange Insurance Audubon Center; 505 W Whittier St. Columbus, OH 43215

Please join us as we welcome Marne Titchenell, Wildlife Program Specialist, The Ohio State University Extension, who will give us the lowdown on bats. Despite their spooky reputation, bats are fascinating and very beneficial critters to have around. We will dispel the myths surrounding bats, discuss how they help us, and how we can help them as they face a very deadly disease called white-nose syndrome.

  • 7:00 – 7:15 pm: Bird quiz and social time with light refreshments. Come and meet old friends…or make new ones.
  • 7:15 – 7:30 pm: Conservation Spotlight: Wins for Birds, Wins for People. While we face many challenges in bird conservation, we also have achieved many conservation milestones, victories that we should celebrate. Bill Heck, National Audubon Society board member, will review a few of these. We also will show how you made them happen!
  • 7:30 – 9:00 pm: Main program, door prizes
