Celebrating 50 Years of Earth Day

Earth Day 2020 Ohio State

The Ohio State University Celebrates 50 Years of Earth Day!
April 2020

Ohio State's Environmental Professionals Network and Sustainability Institute’s Signature Webinar Event on April 15, 2020 highlights the 50th Anniversary of the first Earth Day.

The first Earth Day, April 22, 1970, marked a tipping point in the attention paid to our global environment and a precursor to many critical environmental advances since that time.

The 50th Anniversary of Earth Day is an opportunity to look back at the challenges faced in 1970, to evaluate where we are and what has been accomplished, and to look ahead as we confront the precarious situation, we face with climate change. While we have much to be proud of with respect to environmental advances, our greatest challenges may lie ahead.

Hear from leading environmental and sustainability Ohio State faculty and students, and learn of a special announcement on Ohio State’s action on climate change.
