International Students

International students add a depth of culture and character to the academic and research programs in SENR. We understand that international students have made a particular investment to study in the United States. In addition to your  academics and research, you also maintain your visa status and meet US government requirements of studying in the United States. Below are resources that will help you navigate The Ohio State University successfully.

  • Office of International Affairs has resources related to federal regulations, life at Ohio State, scholarships, paying US taxes, and they offer office hours for personal assistance.
  • Student Health Insurance will assist with the requirements for international students.
  • English as a Second Language explains the ESL Composition requirements for all international students and the Spoken English requirement to be eligible for a Graduate Teaching Associate position.  SENR does not pay for the SPEAK test.
  • Payroll - Nonresident Aliens FAQs will give you information about paying US taxes.
