Catch up on the latest podcast: Between the Green

Feb. 22, 2018

A new podcast for The Lantern is available for listeners interested in environmental topics and sustainability. This weeks episode was created and hosted by Ris Twigg, an undergraduate students in the School of Environment and Natural Resources. Twigg is also an assistant photo editor for The Lantern. This third installment covers food insecurity and waste.

Nearly 15 percent of Ohio State students  — that’s approximately 7,000 students — lack access to healthy food or are otherwise food insecure, according to the National Student Financial Wellness Study conducted by the university in 2014. Meanwhile, over one-third of all food produced in the world is thrown directly in the trash. Join us for this weeks episode and take a look between the green at what three students are doing to not only mitigate food insecurity, but reduce campus emissions from food waste and food purchasing.
