Conference to focus on rural people in a volatile world

Rural sociology faculty and graduate students from the School of Environment and Natural Resources are helping to organize the 2017 Rural Sociological Society conference which will be held in Columbus July 27-30, 2017.  The conference theme is Rural Peoples in a Volatile World:  Disruptive Agents and Adaptive Strategies

Topics will include food and agriculture, natural resources, rural populations, health, education, poverty, youth, the opiate epidemic, crime, and human responses to natural disasters.  Abstracts for papers, posters, and special sessions are due February 22.  For more information, see www.ruralsociology.org or contact program Co-Chair Kristi Lekies at lekies.1@osu.edu
