Congratulations to newly promoted faculty

Dec. 1, 2015
Congratulations to David Hix, who was promoted to the rank of Professor and Kristi Lekies, promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure.

On Thursday, November 12, Ohio State University faculty granted tenure or promotion effective in 2015-16 were recognized at the 13th annual Faculty Recognition Program at The Ohio State University. The reception is hosted by University Libraries, Office of Academic Affairs, and the Faculty Club.

Each year, faculty honorees may select a book from the University Libraries’ collection to be book-plated in their name to recognize their accomplishments. They are also invited to include a statement of the significance of the book.

Professor Hix selected as his book Forest Ecology written by his advisor and mentor, Dr. Burton V. Barnes. He selected this book in deep appreciation for the very significant role Dr. Burton played in his life and has used this textbook in his own courses since it was published.

Associate Professor Lekies (shown above) selected Children’s Participation: The Theory and Practice of Involving Young Citizens in Community Development and Environmental Care by Roger A. Hart, which has been a key influence in her research and outreach work opening her eyes to a new way of viewing children and youth and the contributions they can make in solving challenging environmental problems.
