About Us: Ecological restoration research presented at meeting

March 23, 2017
Attendees at the Society of Ecological Restoration’s Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter meeting had the opportunity to attend three field trips. Attending the Coastal Wetlands and Dune Restoration Field Trip (L to R) were Dr. Matt Davies, Jo Kingsbury, Rachel Glover, Yuhsan Hao, Julie Slater and Jim Palus.

School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) faculty and staff presented their research at the Society of Ecological Restoration’s Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter meeting this weekend (March 24 – 26, 2017) in Grand Rapids, MI.

Themed, “Assembling the Restoration Community,” and held at Grand Valley State University, the goal of the meeting is “to explore how restoration as a human guided community assembly process assists with the recovery of degraded ecosystems and to highlight the importance of promoting the involvement of a diversity of individuals and organizations within restoration efforts in the Midwest.”

The Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter of SER serves Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
