July 26, 2021
Joshua Simon.

On July 13 Ohio State’s Environmental Professionals Network (EPN) hosted a conversation on Greening Engagement with Joshua Simon, Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator. Mr. Simon is also an alum of the School of Environment and Natural Resources. The school is part of the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences.

Greening Engagement features Mr. Simon’s efforts to develop and engage youth and communities across central Ohio in MetroParks. Metro Parks encompasses 19 outstanding natural area parks with more than 230 miles of trails and over 27,700 acres of land in seven Central Ohio counties. The program also featured the opportunity to network with other professionals around topics of career and workforce development and diversity and inclusion in parks and recreation.

The program was facilitated by Nicole Jackson, environmental educator, park advocate and former EPN Coordinator.
