Faculty member appointed to national soil science committee

Nick Basta, a professor of soil and environmental chemistry in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University has been appointed to the U.S. National Committee for Soil Science (USNC/SS) by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.  The USNC/SS represents the interests of the U.S. soil science community in the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS). Its function is to provide advice to the National Academy of Sciences, serve as a focal point for U.S. discussions on how to promote the advancement of soil science both in the U.S. and around the world, and provide input to the IUSS and its activities on behalf of U.S. soil scientists.
