Faculty member reflects on Cardinal's Ohio State Visit

Nov. 4, 2015

A new blog post published by Assistant Professor Greg Hitzhusen reflects on Cardinal Turkson's message to The Ohio State University on November 2, 2015.

Cardinal Turkson's visit to Columbus, included a presentation to the faith community during a conference organized by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus and a Mass for members of the local Ghanaian community. On November 2, he was welcomed by The Ohio State University community at a reception hosted by the School of Environment and Natural Resources and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, where Ohio State students had the opportunity to share with his Eminence their studies, service and work in the area of sustainability. The student reception was followed by an ice core tour and faculty reception at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. That evening, he presented to a crowd of nearly 2,000 at Mershon Center on the Ohio State campus.

His visit was co-sponsored by the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Natural Resources, Office of Energy and Environment, Humanities Institute, St. Thomas More Newman Center, Glenn College of Public Affairs, Mershon Center for International Security Studies, and additional partners and student organizations.
