Lauren Pintor, associate professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) at The Ohio State University to serve as associate director of Undergraduate Education in SENR.
Having served in diverse roles within SENR and across the university, Dr. Pintor brings vast scholarly service, leadership and training in undergraduate education and pedagogy. An award-winning teacher, Dr. Pintor has mentored more than 15 undergraduates pursuing research and has served as the director of the SENR Honors Program and chair of the Honors & Undergraduate Research Committee since 2016. She served as a member of the Honors General Education Workgroup - developing a revision to the Honors curriculum to focus on a common curricular experience for students within the new GE.
She is a current member of the University Honors & Scholars Faculty Advisory Committee and oversees SENR’s Undergraduate Scholarship Portfolio – leading procedural change to award more need-based scholarship funding. Dr. Pintor has served as a faculty mentor for the Ohio State Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program. She serves on the Ohio State Sustainability Institute Faculty Advisory Board and Sustainability Education Visioning Committee, both of which advise University administration on environmental and sustainability issues. Dr. Pintor was recently awarded a Sustainability Education Grant to develop a Water Science & Sustainability Major in collaboration with Dr. Mike Durand and the School of Earth Sciences.
As Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Pintor will lead the instructional program and policies of the school to ensure an unsurpassed student-centered learning experience. She will facilitate and monitor the curriculum, enrollment, teaching and advising components of the undergraduate program and experience. She will direct the SENR Honors Program and Chair the Academic Affairs Committee and engage with development and employers, overseeing the student internship program.
