Gregory Hitzhusen, a lecturer in the School of Environment and Natural Resources, who specializes in religious influences on environmental attitudes and behavior and who organized a special session at this past summer's Ecological Society of America meeting in Sacramento, CA on Ecology & Religion: How Should Ecologists Engage with Faith Communities? was recently interviewed for a FLUX story, "Pope Francis: climate evangelist?" in the Beacon Reader (12/19). The story, written by Virginia Gewin, addresses the expectation that Pope Francis is to produce the first ever encyclical focused solely on the environment and climate change next year.
