Anna Rose is a Master’s student in the Forest Bird and Landscape Ecology Lab at the Ohio State University’s School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR). She studies the impacts of ticks on nesting birds in southeastern Ohio specifically in Wood Thrushes and Ovenbirds. During her undergraduate, she investigated the presence of Lyme disease in birds on the Lake Erie Islands, and completed an honors thesis on the flocking patterns of White-throated Sparrows with the Lab of Avian Wildlife Ecology. Anna is a board member of the Ohio Bluebird Society and volunteer with the Ohio School of Falconry. Anna is also an accomplished artist who has traveled cross-country to display her wildlife art and has been named the 2024 World Migratory Bird Day Artist. It is Anna’s dream to combine her passions in birds, research, and art to find a career where she can share her love for nature every day.
