Gregory Lipps

I am the Coordinator of Amphibian & Reptile Conservation, working closely with partners to lead and facilitate projects designed to ensure all of Ohio’s salamanders, frogs, turtles, snakes, and lizards continue to contribute to Ohio’s rich natural history. This position is funded through the Ohio Biodiversity Conservation Partnership between OSU and the Ohio Division of Wildlife.  

Previous Positions

• Program Manager, Amphibian & Reptile Conservation, Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology, The Ohio State University. October 2014 through June 2023.
• Instructor, Field Herpetology (EEOB 5910).  Stone Laboratories.  Each May, 2016 through present.
• Department of Herpetology, Toledo Zoo. September 1995 through September 2001.

Principal Responsibilities

Provides technical assistance and guidance to government agencies, conservation organizations, and other partners to further herp conservation in the state. Develops and implements conservation plans for listed species, including the Eastern Hellbender and Eastern Massasauga.
