Nall Inshan Moonilall is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Environmental Science Graduate Program (ESGP) pursuing an Environmental Science degree, here at The Ohio State University. Dr. Rattan Lal serves as his advisor. Nall’s research is focused on evaluating soil health, agronomic productivity, and erosivity and erodibility on soils that have experienced simulated erosion and amendment application.
Currently, Nall is a graduate research associate (GRA) for the Carbon Management and Sequestration Center (C-MASC) and the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR). Previously, Nall has served as a graduate teaching associate (GTA) for Environmental Soil Physics (ENR 5261), Urban Soils and Ecosystem Services: Assessment and Restoration course (ENR 5279), Environmental Fate and Impact of Pollutants in Soil and Water (ENR 5273), Wetland Ecology and Restoration Lecture and Lab (ENR 5250.01 and ENR 5250.02), and Introduction to Soil Science Lab (ENR 3001) within the School.
Nall received his M.Sc. in Environmental Science from OSU in August of 2015. His Master’s thesis research focused on evaluating the impact of various amendments on soil properties and agronomic productivity in Guyana, South America. During his time in Guyana, in the summer of 2014, Nall participated in a graduate internship with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture – Guyana as a USDA-IICA-HACU Research Fellow.
Prior to coming to Ohio State, Nall attended Florida International University (FIU) where he obtained his B.Sc. in Environmental Studies with focus on Agroecology. While there, Nall was actively involved in the FIU Agroecology Program and was fully funded as an undergraduate with a grant as a USDA Multicultural Scholar. Nall participated in internships and undergraduate research at the USDA-ARS Sub-Tropical Horticulture Research Station in Miami and was actively involved at the FIU Organic Garden on the school’s campus.
