You're invited to the School of Environment and Natural Resources' annual new student trip to Stone Lab!
Departing campus: Saturday, September 28th, 8AM
Returning: Sunday, September 29th, 5PM
Cost: Free! All travel, food, and lodging are included.
The weekend will include:
- Hands-on faculty-led research activities on the island and surrounding waters
- Workshops with current SENR students and faculty on how to get the most out of your time at OSU
- Opportunities to get to know 40 other new students in SENR
Research activities in previous years include water quality sampling techniques, herpetology, ornithology, macroinvertebrate sampling, and more! The full list of activities will be provided as they are finalized.
This trip is limited to 40 students. If more than 40 sign up, we will utilize a lottery system as Orientation dates are spread throughout the summer.

Stone Lab is The Ohio State University’s island campus on Lake Erie, hosting 25+ college-credit courses and resume-building workshops each and every summer on a six-acre island in Put-in-Bay harbor.
