    Professor Moore Receives Public Policy Award

    Congratulations to Richard Moore, emeritus professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources and adjunct emeritus professor in the Department of Anthropology, who received the Public Policy Award from the American Anthropological Association on November 29 at the American Anthropological Association annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

    Congratulations to Steve Culman, assistant professor of soil fertility, The Ohio State University, who is a recipient of the second annual New Innovator in Food and Agriculture Research award. The annual set of early career grants to outstanding food and agriculture research faculty members is a program of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR), a nonprofit established through bipartisan congressional support in the 2014 Farm Bill.  The New Innovator in Food and Agriculture Research program supports promising scientists who demonstrate not only a commitment to catalyzing innovation in food and agriculture, but also a dedication to mentoring students.

    Professor Emeritus receives Lifetime Achievement Award

    Professor Emeritus Joe Donnermeyer received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Division of Critical Criminology and Social Justice at the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology (ASC) in Philadelphia on November 16. The Division is the largest in ASC, with over 800 members. The award is presented to a member of the Division for “sustained and distinguished scholarship, teaching and service in the field of Critical Criminology.”

  4. Richard Moore, emeritus professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources and adjunct emeritus professor in the Department of Anthropology, will receive the Public Policy Award from the American Anthropological Association in November.

  6. Lower Receives Distinguished Teaching Award

    Brian Lower, an associate professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources was presented with the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching at the 2017 Faculty Awards program and reception held on May 2 at the Wexner Center for the Arts.  The award honors faculty members at The Ohio State University for superior teaching.

    Congratulations to Lauren Pintor, assistant professor of aquatic ecology in the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR), who was awarded the Rodney F. Plimpton Outstanding Teacher Award. The Rodney F. Plimpton Teaching Award recognizes excellence in teaching, both in and out of the formal classroom in the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences.

  8. Rattan Lal honored by Elsevier

    Rattan Lal, director of the Carbon Management and Sequestration Center at The Ohio State University, was honored with the Elsevier Atlas award March 31, for his journal article “Food Security in a Changing Climate,"  published in the “Ecohydrology & Hydrobiology" journal in April 2013.

    Faculty at The Ohio State University were recognized on March 27, 2017 at the Faculty Recognition Reception hosted by President Michael Drake and Senior Vice President for Research Caroline Whitacre. The reception, held at the Faculty Club, honored Ohio State faculty members who received national or international awards during the period 2016-2017. Faculty members whose achievements reached outside or across academic disciplines were also recognized.
