  1. Faculty member co-edits new book on Percid Fishes

    Konrad Dabrowski, a professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources and expert on fisheries and aquaculture, is a co-editor with Patrick Kestemont, University of Namur, Belgium and Robert C. Summerfelt, Iowa State University of Science and Technology, on a new book, “Biology and Culture of Percid Fishes – Principles and Practices” published by Springer.  With 35 chapters authored by expert contributors, the book focuses on temperate freshwater fish, from a biological and aquaculture perspective and will be especially valued by researchers of percid fish biology and aquaculture professionals considering intensive and pond culture of percid fishes.  Learn more about this new book here

  2. Fellowship recipient conducting summer research in school’s aquaculture laboratory

    Benjamin Schott, a junior with a double major in biochemistry and molecular genetics at The Ohio State University, is spending his summer investigating the effects of nutritional programming in yellow perch juveniles. Benjamin is a recipient of a 2015 Ohio State Undergraduate Research Office (URO) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.

    Kevin Fisher, a junior majoring in Environmental Science in the School of Environment and Natural Resources with a focus on water science, is spending his summer conducting research on bighead carp.   4. SENR Faculty and Graduate Students Present Research at World's Largest Aquaculture Conference

    Held every three years and referred to as the Triennial, Aquaculture 2013 hosted in Nashville, TN over four days in February combines the annual meetings of the Fish Culture Section of the American Fisheries Society, the World Aquaculture Society and the National Shellfisheries Association.  With nearly 4000 attendees from over 90 countries represented it is the largest Aquaculture conference and tradeshow held in the world.
