School of Environment and Natural Resources graduate students Alicia Brunner and Kristie Stein were recognized with the Dr. David R. Osborne Research Award for their presentations at the 2016 Ohio Avian Research Conference held October 22, 2016 at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. The award recognizes excellence in graduate research focusing on furthering our understanding, or the conservation, of migratory birds.

Graduating students, their families and faculty and staff in the School of Environment and Natural Resources gathered to celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of the Class of 2016. A reception honoring those graduating from the School of Environment and Natural Resources was held Friday, May 6, 2016 in the Kottman Hall lobby. Light refreshments were served with remarks from Director Sharp, Academic Program Manager Renee Johnston, and others.

Held at the Ohio Union on April 7, 2016, the 63rd Annual Recognition Banquet for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences themed “roaring recognition” celebrated the achievements of undergraduates, faculty and staff. Congratulations to all of the evening's award winners and student leaders for your accomplishments and service.

Tania D. Burgos-Hernández, a graduate student under the direction of Brian Slater, a professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University has been selected to participate in CULTIVAR (Connecting Underrepresented Latinos To Integrate Values and Academic Resources), a project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), which recognizes outstanding graduate students in the Food and Agricultural Sciences.

SENR's Dr. Richard Moore and Dr. Robyn Wilson are part of the multidisciplinary Vegetable Safety Research and Extension Team studying how produce gets contaminated, then uses that knowledge to develop new control methods that are science-based, affordable, socially acceptable and environmentally sustainable. At this year's Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) Annual Research Conference they were awarded the Multi-disciplinary Team Research Award. The prestigious OARDC Multi-disciplinary Team Research Award (only awarded every three years) recognizes scientists who have made outstanding research contributions in advancement of food, family, agricultural and environmental sciences and technology.
